Yoonmi Lehmann, age 12, won the Swiss Figure Skating Championship this past Saturday. Her beautiful and flawless rendition of the “Type Writer” by Leroy Aderson earned scores of 5 in execution and interpretation in the short program.
In Sunday`s long program, with the pressures of winning a championship in front of her, she skated a near flawless program to music by Joachim Rodrigo. Her interpretation was deemed “stunning” by the judges. Once again, the judges awarded some 5`s in skating, interpretation and execution.
This is Yoonmi`s eighth win of the season in as many competitions. At age 12, she has shown an undeniable passion and confidence which permits her to glide with a disconcerting ease. The future is bright for figure skating`s next “superstar”
